T. E. Stevens Construction is a Alabama based Heavy Civil Construction company that has projects in and around Birmingham, AL. Skilled Laborers will work under the direct supervision of the jobsite foreman and superintendents.

RESPONSIBILITIES & GENERAL JOB DUTIES:

• GPS knowledge with rover
• Understanding of grades and elevations
• Ability to set up a level and perform basic math calculations
• Basic understanding of plans and ability to execute directions accurately

Working Environment and Conditions

• This position requires working in the internal and external environment. Will be exposed to all weather elements including heat and rain.
• This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends may
  be required.
• 10 hour days are the norm.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must be able to wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment including at a minimum: steel toed boots, safety vest, hard hat, eye protection, and hearing protection.
• Must possess knowledge of equipment and workplace safety.
• Must demonstrate skills in communications and teamwork.
• Must be able to lift, pull and manage heavy equipment and objects up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work outdoors in exposure to extreme heat and cold.
• Must be able to take company required precautions to be protected from irritants due to possible exposure to eye, nose and skin irritants
• Stress level may be increased due to schedule of work and demands of completing task safety and on time.
• Must be able to walk over uneven and broken ground.
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment in a safe manner.

• Multilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while standing. It does involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
